Slim octavo; publisher's cloth-backed boards in pictorial dust jacket retaining original price ($2.50), color pictorial endpapers; 124pp.; color illus. throughout. Jacket rather worn along extremities, small loss at spine crown, verso heavily foxed, boards a bit rubbed and corners bumped, else a Very Good copy in Good or better jacket. Signed by the illustrator on title page dated W. Cornwall, 9.19.07. Laid in postally-used envelope addressed to Cuthbert C. Thambimuttu containing two short autograph notes signed by Simont. In the first, dated 9.03.07, Simont thanks Thambimuttu for his letter and says he would be happy to sign his copy of "The Thirteen [sic] Clocks." In the second note, dated 9-19-07, Simont provides brief information on Thurber and the writing of this young adult novel: "Much of the work on 13 Clocks was done in Bermuda where the Thurbers spent some time every year. (I guess there were fewer interruptions). West Cornwall was his official residence however, and it's where he did most of his writing."
