Thomas McGreevy (1893-1967), an Irish poet and critic, had a professional and personal relationship with American-English poet T.S. Eliot. They first met in Paris in 1920 and maintained a long-lasting correspondence over two decades. McGreevy played a key role in introducing Eliot's writings to Irish audiences and was influential in promoting Eliot's "The Waste Land" in Ireland. Eliot also supported McGreevy's career, both endorsing his poetry and appreciating his critical writings.
