MARIE JEANNE Iris Pallida EDP 100 ml Iris Pallida is the new addition to the «Matière Première» Eau de Parfum collection. The scent is the transcription of the natural smell of Iris rhizomes, a complex olfactory signature usually described as powdery, raw, dry woody, slightly fruity and cocoa-like. Four years of maturation are needed for the rhizomes to concentrate into irones (fragrant molecules derived from Iris) and it takes approximately 1000 kg of dry rhizomes to make 2 kg of Iris butter. It is one of the noblest ingredients available in the olfactory palette of perfumers. Often associated with classic perfumery, it is very elegant. To give it greater richness and complexity, we used different extractions: Florentine Iris butter, Iris Pallida butter and German Iris absolute. Thanks to the high concentration of 28%, its evolution and persistence are fantastic, while remaining an intimate fragrance that makes you feel good. A sensual, refined and minimalist perfume. «Georges Maubert wanted a fragrance entirely dedicated to Iris Pallida, a natural and iconic ingredient of the tradition of the art of perfumery in Grasse. It took a year and a half and 160 tests to create this fragrance that we wanted to be direct, readable but not simplistic and that honors the richness of the iris. I used the best quality butter and iris absolute to create a concise formula in which sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver are the base of a renewed iris with a fresh hazelnut accent. Cashmeran, musks and ambroxan add depth to the fragrance, giving sensuality to an intimate and contemporary sillage».
