AGATHA CHRISTIE - PERIL AT END HOUSE, published by Dodd Mead, copyright 1932, First Printing (no references to subsequent printings on copyright page - there was never a 2nd Dodd Mead printing), lists to itself on list of Christie books to pre-title page, off-white endpapers, light tan tweed cloth boards with orange lettering to spine and front panel. NOTE - THE U.S. EDITION IS THE TRUE 1ST - PUBLISHED IN FEBRUARY OF 1932 A MONTH BEFORE BEFORE THE U.K. EDITION IN MARCH OF 1932. Book has a couple of creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, no foxing to pages or endpapers, slight dust soiling/age darkening to outer page edges with just a hint of foxing top outer page edge only, clean endpapers with no soiling or staining, no splitting to internal hinges (common defect with these early Dodd Mead books), no spine lean, no wear to board edges or board corners or spine tips, ever so slight spine sun darkening (common defect with this book - even with the original dust jacket), no rubbing to spine lettering, NO handling/dust soiling to boards, no soiling or discoloration to boards, no bumped board corners. Book also comes with a color facsimile of the Dodd Mead Dust jacketmto provide protection from damage and to improve its appearance on a shelf. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book of a rare early 1930s era Agatha Christie 1st printing. I have a number of other U.K. and U.S. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover books up for sale.
