The East Village Other (spesso abbreviato in EVO) è stato un giornale underground americano di New York, pubblicato bisettimanalmente negli anni Sessanta. È stato descritto dal New York Times come "un giornale così controcultura da far sembrare The Village Voice una circolare della chiesa". Pubblicato da Walter Bowart, EVO fu uno dei primi giornali controculturali ad emergere. Il design del giornale, nei primi anni, era caratterizzato da montaggi dadaisti e titoli assurdi e non-sense. In seguito, il giornale evolvette in un layout psichedelico più colorato che divenne una caratteristica distintiva dei giornali underground dell'epoca.EVO fu una pubblicazione importante per il movimento del fumetto underground, con fumetti di artisti come Robert Crumb, Kim Deitch, Trina Robbins, Spain Rodriguez, Gilbert Shelton e Art Spiegelman.
