Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein is a bona-fide classic of American children's literature. This is a first edition of the book in hardcover, but does not feature a dust jacket. The exact print run this was part of is unknown, though it features notable identifiers. Lettering has nearly entirely faded along the spine, the cover retains the signature of Shel Silverstein, but in such a way that it appears to be part of the publisher's design for the book. The back of the book also has a similar signature. Close examination indicates either may be authentic, but they could also have been traced by a previous owner. There is an inscription to the first owner on the inside pages, and there are a few markings made by readers within this book's pages, but they are sparse.
