This book examines the experiences of Ukrainians who fled the escalated war focusing on their journeys to the European Union adaptation there and eventual return and reintegration into Ukraine. Drawing on fieldwork in Ukraine in 2024 and 2025 surveys and interviews with returnees it provides detailed analysis and vivid accounts of displacement and return. It also incorporates findings from organizations such as UNHCR and IOM and explores potential post-war developments shaping both returnees’ lives and Ukraine’s future.
