Promotional booklet. Oblong quarto. 32pp. Illustrated from black and white photographs. Stapled self wrappers. Modest edgewear, a bit of light soiling, a few pages with very faint stains, a faint vertical fold, near fine overall, printed on thin newsprint paper (the paper was made in Maine, as stated on the last page). In 1925, Harold M. Saddlemire purchased the Lucerne Inn (in Dedham, Maine) and the property surrounding it, and began to put together a plan for a large resort community that he called "Lucerne-in-Maine," with the Inn acting as the "main building of the club." He successfully built the proposed golf club, but his plans ultimately fell through due to mismanagement of its funds, combined with the effects of the Great Depression. This booklet is a promotional item that was sent to prospective early investors in the project.
