1871 FIRST PRINTING of FIrst UK Edition. Rebound in dark brown cloth, black title patch spine with gilt lettering, gilt rules spine, trimmed and marbled fore-edges. The book has clean covers, no rubbing, solid (new) binding, previous owner's signature on top of title page dated March 1872 and another previous owner's signature on second FFEP dated 1924 otherwise no writing or marks on any pages, some foxing on engraved plates and on second FFEP & RFEP but nearly all other pages have no foxing, tideline in edge of margin of frontispiece but no staining (common in old UK books being the result of humidity, not direct water contact, over the years).
