The red boards have some small white marks to the front panel and some rubbing to the corners. The gilt lettering on the front panel and spine is nice and bright. Browning and light spotting to the page edges. The rear pastedown has some vertical production creasing and there is a little brown spotting to the front and rear free endpapers. Very slight spotting to the half-title page and the pages are slightly browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has a small chip out of the top edge of the front panel where a small piece of tape has been attached to the reverse. There are also half-inch closed tears to the top edge near the top right corner and the bottom edge near the bottom right corner. The spine is a little browned with some light edge rubbing, a small closed surface tear and a little chipping at the top. The rear panel has a small closed tear to the bottom left corner and one small stain. Light wear along the top edge of the jacket where there is a little discolouration. Jacket illustration by F.S.
