This book was written by two descendants of the original Swedish settlers who came to the area in the mid-1800s, homesteaded and stayed. This book is attempt by the authors to record the history of early years before it is lost forever. The effort was a town-wide effort to piece together a history from scraps and writings that were collected and saved by settler families who still live in Marquette. If nothing else, the book will show the settler/pioneer spirit and will of the present population to keep Marquette a thriving town even with its 2020 population of 522. A clean very presentable copy.
