"Phenomena Of Alternating Currents Of Very High Frequency" In The Electrician: A Weekly Illustrated Journal Of Electrical Engineering, Industry And Science, Volume Xxvi: From November 7, 1890, To May 1, 1891 Tesla, Nikola (1856-1943) Science

Featured in the March 6, 1891 issue, this is the first appearance in the United Kingdom of this early Tesla article, which appeared in a slightly different form in the February 21, 1891 issue of the American periodical Electrical World. This work informs and provides context to his development of the Tesla coil, which he patented on April 25, 1891 and first publicly demonstrated on May 20, 1891 in his groundbreaking lecture "Experiments with Alternate Currents of Very High Frequency and Their Application to Methods of Artificial Illumination" before the American Institute of Electrical Engineers at Columbia College, New York. In addition, the February 20, 1891 issue of The Electrician includes a report on the "New Tesla Alternating Motor." Quarto: 8, 806 p. with textual figures and numerous advertisements. In a period three-quarter black calf over marbled paper binding, with gilt-stamped titles. The leather has been refurbished by an experienced bookbinder. Some general shelfwear to the boards; else very good.
