Contemporary patterned green half calf, green cloth over boards, gilt-ruled. Gilt titles, tooling, and raised bands to spine. Pink textured endpapers. Some light thumbing/marking throughout. A few small glue marks/tears to plates, including plate III which is stuck to the verso of plate II and unopenable without tearing. Gentle edgewear. Very good. Authored by members of the Rosicrucian order, this work concerns Shakespeare's 'secreti sigilli' - a motif well-hidden within texts which marks them as belonging to a certain author. The book purports that Shakespeare's was the number 287, which can be found in all of his literature by adding and subtracting certain textual elements such as Roman numerals and letters in Italics.
