This huge color lithographed map of Texas was published in Chicago, IL by Nystrom, a division of Herff Jones, Inc., in 1993. Vibrant shades of green, yellow, and orange correspond to the elevation of the Lone Star State, as noted according to the legend in the lower right. A number of inset maps situated in the negative space explore a variety of related themes, including the distribution of Native American tribes, mineral resources, population density, and land use. Images of the Alamo, San Jacinto Memorial Monument, and the Six Flags of Texas - all historic and cultural icons - are illustrated in the upper right.
