First edition, first printing. Publisher's original light blue paper covered boards with dark blue titles to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and black and white illustrations by R. J. MacDonald. A better than very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps, the closed text block edge a little dusty and with a few minor spots. Complete with lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that remains without loss and has a couple of short closed tears and some fading to the spine. Not price-clipped (7s 6d net to the front flap).
