Help For The Helper Workbook

Research has shown that psychotherapists and other helping professionals, particularly those who assist people who have suffered traumatic incidents, face risks to their own mental and physical health. These risks include unmanageable countertransference, compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatisation and burnout. The Help for the Helper Workbook is a companion to Babette Rothschild's Help for The Helper, Updated and Expanded (2022). It includes practical tasks and exercises that complement the original volume to enhance and strengthen the ability of helping professionals to better care for their own psychological health while assisting highly stressed and traumatised clients. Whether used on its own or in combination with the original volume, this workbook provides helpers with a safe space to prioritise their well-being.
