John Rowe: An Eighteenth Century Boston Angler Phillips, John C. Fishing (General),Sporting

Green cloth-backed marbled boards; thin 8vo; 32pp; not illustrated; plain green dust jacket; printed in an edition of 150 copies. Extracts from Rowe's diary dealing with fishing between 1764 and 1774. Rowe's fishing occurred in ponds and streams with close proximity to Boston with an occasional junket to the Mashpee River on Cape Cod. An interesting insight to the sporting life in the neighborhood of Boston in pre-revolutionary times. This copy in good condition with new cloth spine, internally clean. The uncommon jacket is in good condition with some splitting along spine with internal cello-tape strengthening and mild edge chipping. One of the harder-to-find Phillips titles.
