Dublin, Wilson, White, Cash, Moore and Jones, 1786. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A good copy. The first Dublin edition, preceded by the London edition of 1785. Published in French as Mon Bonnet de Nuit. One of Mercier's most important pieces, being a collection of essays - some of which are written as dream sequences, and a couple of tales. Boards worn with some splitting and large areas of chipping to the leather. All boards still held well with the string though. Labels chipped heavily on one volume. Internally, a number of ownership marks including a couple of plates, a US library stamp and a couple of ink notes. [11167, Hyraxia Books].
