Senecae Tragoediae cum Notis Thomas Farnabii. Edited by Thomas Farnaby and printed in Amsterdam by Johannem Blaeu. 1665, 363 pp, 5.25”, 3.75”, 12mo, full vellum. Overall very good, with light rubbing and wear to exterior. Original vellum with modern label affixed to spine. Hinges remain tight and text block remains nicely bound. Light markings and marginalia at front of text block. Nicely illustrated frontispiece. Includes owner’s signature from Henrici Christophoci Bachmanni dated 1669. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A very scarce and nicely preserved piece of the tragedies of Senaca. A later edition of a piece compiled and annotated by English schoolmaster and scholar Thomas Farnaby (1575-1647).
