The Iliad and the Odyssey, in matched bindings and slipcases, both translated by Rieu and illustrated by Frink. In original linen boards with bold Greco rectilinear graphics stamped in black and gilt to cover and spine, with matching titles. Generally solid and neat; a eak spot in the binding between the title page and the frontis of the Iliad has been reinforced with archival japanese kozo paper. Both volumes in original blue scalloped front slipcases. Light shelf rub to slipcases at extremities/corners; rippling to the surface of one side of the Iliad slipcase and a partial split at one seam. Both volumes are the 1st issue Folio Society printing: 1974 & 1975 respectively. Books both about VG in VG- slipcases. Illustrated with color plates from designs by Elisabeth Frink. .
