ARQUISTE Indigo Smoke EDP 100 ml May 1646, Wuyi Mountains, Fujian. For centuries, monks in the Wuyi Mountains cultivated tea and indigo plants in neatly terraced plantations. In 1646, their monasteries were attacked by Qing soldiers from the north. When the monks were forced to flee, they smoked batches of tea leaves over pine fires to preserve their harvests. This would become the smoky lapsang souchong tea. Mingling with fresh mountain air and incense from nearby shrines, the heady plumes of indigo smoke captured the colors of the Wuyi Mountains and their spectacular river gorges. Style: Aromatic, Woody Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin Oil, Lapsang Souchong Accord, Vetiver. Middle Notes: Apricot Accord, Cassia Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Guaiac Wood. Base notes: Maté tea absolute, cedar leaf oil, pine tar, incense. Fragrance created in collaboration with Calice Becker. EDP 100 ml
