The Jan 14, 1853, issue of Flag of the Union, a newspaper in Jackson, Mississippi, has an advertisement by Alonzo Lancaster, Commissioner, announcing a commissioner's sale of J. Walker Percy's cotton plantation of 1300-1400 acres of land on Duck Creek near Greenville as well as 135-140 slaves and other property.
