Very unusual, rare book. I found only one other copy for sale on the Internet. That book is missing a number of the slides (and is selling for $275.00). The four page Introduction in my book is repeated in English, then French, then German, and then Italian. From pictures of the other book for sale I can see that the slides have the date 1991 on them. The slides in my book don't have a date on them. And I'm not finding a date of publication in my book. However, I have skimmed through the footnotes in the English Introduction and I believe the latest date referenced is 1975. The slides appear to be in excellent condition. All 96 are present. They are all encased in bound plastic covers so that none of the slides are exposed. The plastic covers are in excellent condition, no issues at all. Between two of the Introductions there is a foldout illustration displaying a number of the works of art, and on the verso side of part of the foldout there is a diagram showing where all 96 of the frescoes are displayed. The book is in very nice condition. You can see the covers in the photos. They look quite clean. The lettering on the spine is looks very good. There are two tiny nicks on the top edge, quite minor. Otherwise, the edges are in very good shape. The corners look very good. The book is very solidly bound. The pages are nicely tight, as are the covers. The interior of the book is in very nice condition as well. There is a small purple stamp off the bottom edge of the blank front end paper. It has an illustration at its center and 'Cappella Deglii Scrovegni' at its margin. There are no other markings or stampings in the book. There are a few small amber spots just off the top and bottom edges of the title page, quite minor and not repeating on any other page. The white inside covers and end papers, front and rear, are perfectly clean. I didn't see any soiling on any of the pages in the book is. I'm also not finding any creasing. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The chapel and monastery are now part of the complex of the Musei Civici di Padova. The chapel contains a fresco cycle by Giotto, completed around 1305 and an important masterpiece of Western art. In 2021, the chapel was declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of 14th-century fresco cycles composed of 8 historical buildings in Padua city centre. The Scrovegni Chapel contains the most important frescoes that marked the beginning of a revolution in mural painting and influenced fresco technique, style, and content for a whole century.'
