First Edition (NAP, 1932 on the title page, Errata sheet bound in before the 'Part I' page). You can see the covers in the photos. They are mostly quite clean, a few small spots on the rear cover. There is some light toning at the margins. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There is some crinkling at the spine ends, two teeny tiny spots of rub-through at the top edge and one teeny tiny spot of rub-through at the bottom edge. There is one small spot of rub-through (see first photo) at the top corner of the front cover. There's a spot of rub through on each of the two bottom edges right under their corners, and there is one tiny spot of the same on the front bottom edge beside the spine. The page edges look pretty good there is some light spotting on the middle one. The bottom page edge is deckled or rough-cut. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is quite solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in nice condition. The pages are quite clean. I didn't see any stains. There are a few small tan spots of foxing on a few early pages, nothing much of anything. The illustrations are on glossy paper. They are all in very nice condition. I didn't see any foxing on them which is a little surprising. There is some light tan spotting or foxing at the margin of the text pages that face the glossy paged illustrations. I didn't see much by way of foxing on any of the other pages, a little bit on the last two pages and the first blank rear end paper. There isn't much by way of creasing, no placeholder creases, a few tiny creases below the tips of a corner. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. It looks like some penciling was erased at the top corner of the blank front end paper. A magnifying glass suggests a price, perhaps 85 or 95 dollars (or pounds), can't see the sign. There is no other writing to be found anywhere in the book. The first edition is fairly rare, and this one appears to be in better condition than the few others for sale.
