Quarter plate daguerrotype. Matted with preserver in one-half of the original embossed leather case. Approximately 3.25" x 3.75". A few spots of tarnish on the image, lacks the front half of the case, else near fine. The image shows a handsome young man seated at a table with a book open in his hand. The subject is undated and unidentified, but the remaining case parts suggest circa 1850.
