This April 22, 1865 issue of the Army Navy Journal is scarce in commerce and features both major Civil War events from April 1865. Complete in 12 pages and also features detailed Civil War news from across the country as well as news of potential peace. The entire front page is devoted to the surrender of Lee, while inside is the headline report on Lincoln's assassination, nearly an entire column long. This historic piece is in Very Good condition, with mild edge wear, including a shallow vertical chip along the fore edge of page 7, not affecting any of the Lincoln or Appomattox text. #BB-001 Disbound.
