The Three Voyages Of Vasco De Gama, And His Voiceroyalty, From The Lendas Da India Of Gaspar Correa. Accompanaied By Original Documents Correa, Gaspar History,Travel And Exploration

Octavo. Portrait frontispiece, lxxx, 430 pages, xxxv, errata. Originally published by the Hakluyt society in 1900 (No. XLII), Variation, no. 42. This work was translated from the Portuguese by the Honorable Henry E.J. Stanley. The author had gone to India very young and sixteen years later India was discovered, about 1514. He decided to begin a journal of the history of India. Parts were lost over time but later found through various owners, including a confectioner who had the first part but used a whole leaf to wrap up sweetmeats. A fine copy bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt. An interesting and important history of India.
