William Alexander Attaway (November 19, 1911 – June 17, 1986) was a Black novelist, short story writer, essayist, songwriter, playwright, and screenwriter, who was born in Greenville, Mississippi. An accomplished and committed maker of documentary films, the left-wing activist Herbert Kline (March 13, 1909 – February 5, 1999) was one of the first Americans to go to Spain during the civil war and capture on film the strife and suffering there. As far as we are aware, this film has been unproduced and is unpublished. The title has been written in holograph black ink along the spine in an unknown hand, else generally near fine.
