Easy Guide To Chess Wood, Baruch. H.

Chess, Sutton Coldfield. England. 1945. Revised and enlarged edition. Hardback with dj. An interesting item in that it has been SIGNED BY 'BHWood' in ink. B H Wood was a highly respected chess player and set up the very successful magazine CHESS. Also, PLEASE NOTE: dj is tanned, with various small chips and some tears. Water staining to reverse of dj. The boards are green, faded, stained. The contents bear a very neat message in ink to front - 'Life is what you make it' and name, in that same hand, under the front flap. Signed 'BHWood' to title page. Lots of black and white illustrations and useful glossary to back. Previous owners neat, printed label to front. Laid in is a newspaper cutting from around 1967 of a young child chess prodigy who, in a tournament in Madrid, beat some of Spain's leading chess players of that time. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
