Nevertheless, he wrote many treatises on Franciscan saints and foundations as well as devotionals and church histories. One of his lesser-known works was “Apparatus Solemnis Sublimis” – a devotional describing the character of Christ through signs, anecdotes and sayings of church fathers, and descriptions of ecclesiastical concepts and symbols. Each section or ‘apparatus’ of this book is based on a verse from scripture.
