Illustrated publisher's cream dust jacket with black and green lettering. Boards in bright orange cloth with black stamping on front and spine. Fore edge is deckled. Dust jacket is slightly soiled and discolored on the front, back, and spine with brighter fold overs. Loss to the front corners, head and tail of spine of the dust jacket with small tears and toning all over. Boards are lightly soiled, mostly on the spine. Slight bumping to the corners of the boards and head and tail of spine. Back cover blind stamped with a diamond reading "Nunquam Dormio" over a tree inside it, the publisher's emblem. Deckled fore edge has a page with some slight overhang. Inside front cover has "This book belongs to" on the pastedown with the name rubbed away down to the board below the paper. Back flyleaves include two drawings of women's faces, both scribbled over, one labeled "you". Between pages 32 and 33 the gutter is cracked but structurally sound. Originally published by Little, Brown, and Co in 1917 as Anne Pedersdotter. A play translated from the Norwegian of H. Weirs-Jenssen; produced and staged in the mid-twenties in Greenwich Village.
