Another owner's book plate on the front paste down. Richard Johnston, 1822-1898, was an author from Georgia. He wrote several novels and a nonfiction book titled "A Life of Alexander Hamilton Stephens". Johnston was a law partner and friend of Stephens. Johnston's autobiography was published after he died.
