Green cloth with bright gilt titling to the spine and the front. The boards remain sound and secure, undamaged and tolerably sharp, but with some light, sporadic staining to the back (also, though considerably fainter, to the front). Frontis (with tissue guard), 76pp. (Being an address by George Bancroft delivered before both houses of Congress on February 12, 1866. There is an enjoyable whiff of Bancroft's German university education in the preliminaries.)
