The book was printed by the town of Boston written to England to share with the crown their Patriot point of view. The story was compiled by 15 town members including Samuel Adams, and soldiers who were in town to help enforce the Townshend Acts and keep the peace in the restive city. Though under orders not to use their weapons against the citizenry on the evening of March 5, 1770, on King Street, soldiers fired into an aggressive crowd, killing five people.
