This volume icludes the entire subfamily Ocenebrinae of the Muricidae with 164 extant species across 33 genera. Each species is listed with the author's name(s), the date of description, the synonymy, the distribution, the description and additional comments. The description is occasionally more elaborate if deemes useful or if he was the author or one of the authors of the original publication. In that case, the original description is usually included, with additional or less dtails if appropriate. The type locality and the type material are noted only for species named after 1971, referring to Vokes, even if the name is now considered to be invalid.
