From his early days in art, he dedicated much of his energy to drawing and engraving. Throughout his life, graphic art accompanied his paintings. Those close to the artist testified that in the evening and on dark winter days when painting with colors was impossible, he never parted with his pencil. Drawing was a living necessity for Picasso; at times, it turned into a real itch for drawing, and then he was ready to cover any surface he could find with his sketches.
