Maiden Voyage Welch, Denton Autobiography And Memoirs

First edition. 303 pages. Inscribed to the reverse of the frontispiece: "To Peggy with love from Denton.". The recipient was Peggy Mundy Castle, a friend and early patron of Welch's work as an artist. The book is reasonably firmly bound in light yellow cloth, lettered and decorated in red to the spine, the cloth is slightly marked and faded, with bumping to the corners and spine ends, and the spine is slightly cocked. The text block is age toned, slightly marked, foxed and dusty. The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it is quite marked, rubbed and toned, with loss to the bottom of the spine, there are short closed tears and small chips to the edges, some repaired with small pieces of thin paper archival tape to the reverse, and it has split entirely at the rear spine fold.
