Lovely two-volume set of the Alice tales from 1946 (First, thus), with the lovely original drawings of Sir John Tenniel hand-colored by German illustrator Fritz Kredel for a soft watercolor effect. Orig. housed in a slipcase (which is NOT present), both books are in Near Fine condition. They have decorative paper-covered boards over cloth wrapped spines, one red, the other teal blue. Both are extremely clean & bright, though "Alice's Adventures" has some light spotting to front cover. Bindings secure & straight, pages creamy white with a hint of tanning around edges, but completely unmarked. Extremely mild rubbing to extremities & corner bumping. No DJs, as issued, & slipcase is missing. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually own!
