Dust jacket is price clipped (front flap's top corner). Dust jackets edges are worn with a small tear at tail of spine - front hinge. Flap creases of dust jacket are worn, but intact. Brightly colored front cover of dust jacket presents well & remains clean. Dark blue paper boards lightly scuffed at edges and corners. Purple cloth spine rubbed at head and tail. Blue gilt lettering on spine bright and clean. Previous ownership blind stamp found at bottom corner of half-title page: Library of Donna S. Weiner. Text-block lightly toned around edges of leaves, but is otherwise clean. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Douglas Adams (1952-2001) was an English author, humorist, and screenwriter, best known for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (HHGTTG). The work was originally a concept for a science-fiction comedy radio series pitched by Adams and radio producer Simon Brett to BBC Radio in 1977. According to Adams, the idea for the title occurred to him while he lay drunk in a field in Innsbruck, Austria, gazing at the stars. He was carrying a copy of the Hitch-hiker's Guide to Europe, and it occurred to him that "somebody ought to write a Hitchhiker's Guide tot he Galaxy." Stated First American Edition! Gift quality!
