Very attractive tree calf binding. Four gilt-decorated, raised bands to spine with gilt decoration and leather gilt title label to compartments. Prize binding from Clifton College, Bristol, with their insignia in gilt to upper board, and 1916 prize label to front pastedown. Pretty gilt borders to both boards, blind-stamped turn-ins, marbled endpapers and page edges. Ribbon bookmarker present but detached. Minor wear to binding. Joints a little rubbed but firm, and hinges intact. A few minor marks to marbled page edges. Minor spotting to front and back matter and a couple of marked pages but contents o/w clean. A lovely copy. Text mostly printed in two columns per page. viii, 647 pp. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Additional photos available on request.
