Weiss of Medford, Oregon for various items with a typed note at the bottom: “Dr. Deachman wrote a book Auto-Biochemic (A.B.C.) Treatment that explained his work. He was successful and had a large practice using this method along with his Homeopathic Remedies. We will try to obtain a copy of this book for you. It is out of print.” Added in handwritten script is another note: “Dr. Deachman furnished us with the dehydrated urine & we made the products for him.” In the Dedication page, Dr. Deachman writes, “To the great body of physicians whose power for good is not warped by egotistical superstitions of by-gone days. To such I respectfully dedicate this book for earnest consideration and investigation.” Deachman was thinking outside of the box with his theory that waste products of metabolism might be curative means in treating diseased conditions. There are 28 chapters in the book: General Considerations and Methods of Treatment; Urine as a Diagnostic and Therapeutic Agent; Blood Plasma and Urine in Normal and Abnormal Conditions; Electro-Magnetic Energy; Cell Salts; Metabolism Heredity and Environment; Urinary Tests; The Autonomic System and Its Relation to the Cure of Disease; Acute Diseases; Catarrah, Tonsils, Otitis Media; Headaches; Asthma; Tuberculosis; Rheumatism; Nephritis; Gonorrhea; Syphilis; Women’s Diseases; Skin Diseases – Acne – Eczema; Neurasthenia; Arterio-Sclerosis; Diet; Life Prolonged – Tobacco – Tea – Coffee – Alcohol; Eugenics; Endocrines; Mixed Cases; Homeopathy vs. Auto Bio Chemic, Urine in Material Doses; Method of Collecting, Method of Administration; Concluding Chapter; followed by a list of Books and Journals of Reference. Knowing that the status quo usually challenges anything new or different, Deachman writes, in his concluding chapter, “Regardless of criticism, be it just or unjust, the writer ventures to make the assertion that the time is not in the far distance when the principle involved in this method of treatment will supplant much of the present day uncertainty in regard to the treatment of diseased conditions.”
