The Bloomsbury Heritage Series No. 26. Asham House in East Sussex was the country retreat for the Woolfs from 1912 to 1919. Standing hidden from the road, it played host to some of the most influential writers, artists and intellectuals of the time, and was the setting for Virginia Woolf's short story, "A Haunted House."
