An intact tissue guard protects an ornate, multi-colored page sharing "Nimmo's Popular Poets". Octavo. Dark red boards somewhat faded over time with some soiling to cover. Black, blue, and gilt lines and lettering on the spine. Rubbing and loss of gilt on spine over the word "Burns" with heavier loss on the "U" and the "R", yet the word "Burns" remains readable. Ornate cover with black, blue and gilt embellishments. Some rubbing to gilt and loss over bottom part of "B" in word "Burns" . Back cover red cloth covered blind stamped board is faded and rubbed. Some bumping and exposure of corner boards. Page edges gilt on three sides, lightly scuffed in a few places. The book has a slight shelf lean but can stand securely on its own. Inside: Chocolate colored endpapers. One front end paper is missing. The binding is very good. This is a time-traveled and gracefully weathered, beautiful copy of the Complete Works of Scotland's National Poet, Robert Burns.
