While still a member of the Editorial Board at the Sunday Times, Fleming had the brilliant idea of asking some of the greatest writers of the time (many of whom were his close friends) to comment on their favourite deadly sin - the serial appeared in the newspaper with contributions from Patrick Leigh Fermor, Cyril Connolly, Edith Sitwell, Evelyn Waugh, W.H. Auden, Christopher Sykes and Angus Wilson. The book-form edition was mostly exported to America where the articles had not previously been seen, and to which Fleming's 'Special Foreword' was added. From the collection of Ian Fleming bibliographer Otto Penzler, purchased by ourselves at Swann Auctions in 2010, with lot slip included. Gilbert B3 (1.1).
