PERRIS MONTECARLO Essence de Patchouli EDP 100 ml One of the most important ingredients available to a perfumer, Patchouli is a plant that grows in Indonesia, China and India. The essential oil is obtained by distilling the leaves, and releases an important, complex, woody, camphor and undergrowth odor, and the best quality has a bitter cocoa aroma. The essence is very persistent. Its powerful scent makes it popular in aromatherapy to treat stress, depression and even to control appetite. Patchouli leaves, given their strong camphorated odor, were used by silk and cashmere traders to wrap and protect the fabrics they imported to Europe from insects. The fabrics, then purchased by rich European customers, were therefore impregnated with the inebriating aroma of patchouli, which quickly became extremely popular among fashionable ladies. It is considered a sort of "drug" for the nose, an olfactory hypnosis that generates addiction. In fact, it exudes a subtle but irresistible sensuality and induces the production of endorphins (euphoric); it is no coincidence that it was a rage among the flower children in the 60s and 70s. In Essence de Patchouli, pure essential oil of Patchouli is used, harmonized in the heart by the richness and sensuality of Rose and Geranium, and sophisticated in the base with an oriental/woody touch through an embrace of Labdanum Absolute, Vanilla, Iris, Cashmeran and precious woods. The result is a refined Chypre / Oriental, rich, warm, dry but soft.
