Boards with traditional multiple gilt fillets with four gilt corner floral tools, spine densely gilt in compartments, all edges gilt with TWIN METAL CLASPS- contained in a top and bottom book shaped morocco slipcase. ENGRAVED THROUGHOUT - title, 96 engraved pages, predominantly with a full page plate on the recto and engraved text with elaborate historiated borders on the verso. Bound without the portrait and the 'Avis'. The final page 'Extrait du Privilege du Roy' is dated 1653. Fascinating engravings of the Saints with their images including flowers, insects and angels, engravings of scenes from the Mass and portraits of Jesus and Mary. Engraved by Jean Collins of Antwerp and others. Collations for this work vary with the numeration moving from leaves to pages and thence unnumbered.
