A very technical work which includes formulas for everything from loading densities to pressures in shells. The ownership signatures in the front are from a Thomas C. Fulton, Lieutenant and Alan Hawkesworth F.R.S.A. We find articles on ballistics and underwater trajectories by Hawkesworth in US Naval periodicals from the early 1920s. A scarce 19th century firearm training manual which is held by roughly 10 institutions, according to OCLC. 24x16cm, [iii], ix, [1], 152, [1]pp. Errata at rear. Charts, tables, diagrams throughout. Original blind ruled, red pebbled cloth boards stamped in gilt on front cover. Some staining to lower portion of front board, spine, and rear board. Two former owner's names to front pastedown, Naval Proving Grounds stamp to front fly, else clean internally and very good
