Message Of William A. Richards, Governor Of Wyoming, To The Third Legislative Assembly Richards, William A. Western Americana,Wyoming

19th century Wyoming imprint, a message from the fourth Governor of the state of Wyoming, William A. Richards (1849-1912). Richards was a rancher and surveyor before becoming involved in politics. In 1886 he was elected county commissioner of Johnson County and was appointed by President Harrison of Surveyor General for Wyoming in 1889. Richards, as governor, is remembered for his involvement in the Bannock War of 1895, and later pardoning Butch Cassidy, then a minor livestock rustler, for possession of a stolen horse worth $5. OCLC cites three holdings for this publication. 8vo, 47pp. Stitched in original printed, thin paper wrappers which show toning and wear. Clean internally and near fine
