Small 8vo, approximately 155 x 95 mm, 6 x 3¾ inches, 8 panel folding frontispiece with 19 images, a few illustrations in the text, pages: xii, 13-216 plus leaf of adverts, original publisher's printed boards, edges untrimmed. Head of spine chipped with loss, external hinges cracked, but still holding firmly on cords, corners bumped and worn, boards darkened, slight age-browning to 1 fold of folding plate, not affecting images, margins have pale browning, 2 tiny chips to margins of folding plate, neatly repaired, occasional fox spot but overall text clean, a good copy, no loose pages and still in its unrepaired original state.
