First is a newsaper clipping dated 1852 of a letter to and a response from Major General Winfield Scott. The other side of the clipping are ads of plantations and other properties for sale. The second is a Thanksgiving proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson and of Governor Locke Craig of North Carolina, circa 1913 or 1914 since it was witnessed by William Jenning Bryan as Secretary of State.
